Jacqueline "Jackie" Abra Schiffner’s Bat Mitzvah

Jacqueline "Jackie" Abra Schiffner will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, May 6 to read parshat Emor.

Jackie is a 7th grader at Live Oak School. She loves art, skiing, coding, playing cello in the Golden Gate Philharmonic, second session at Camp Ramah, blowing the Shofar, and making music videos featuring her 4 year old brother Elijah.

For her Bat Mitzvah Project, Jackie has been volunteering at Family House, a home away from home for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Every week, she leads arts and crafts experiences for the residents, teaching them how to make potholders. Everyone who donates to her fundraising drive will get a custom potholder, made by Jackie and the residents.

Jackie's favorite Jewish holidays are Sukkot, Chanukah, and Passover, because they all last eight days, and her family marks each day with a special experience.

Jackie is grateful to her amazing team of teachers and Rabbis, her supportive family, and her loyal friends flying in from distant lands for this special occasion.

Jackie and her family have felt so welcomed this past year and are thrilled to celebrate this major milestone with their new Beth Sholom community.
