Orr Beharav’s Bar Mitzvah

Orr Beharav will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, June 8. He will read from Parashat Bamidbar and discuss the moral of God’s census of the Israelites in his drash. Following the service, we’ll celebrate together with a Kiddush Lunch.

Orr is a 7th grader at San Francisco Schoolhouse. He has been part of the Beth Sholom community since his infant days as a mommy-and-me regular! Nowadays, he is a sports fan, especially of basketball, and supports his local team—the Warriors. He also enjoys playing the sport.

Orr is a talented musician and artist. He is currently distributing handmade crochet stuffed animals and DIY crochet kits that he has made and assembled himself to support Jewish children in need, helping them stay busy and safe.

He is celebrating his Bar Mitzvah with friends and family from both the congregation and outside of it. He feels fortunate to have his Israeli family, including his grandparents Dalia and Yaki, and his aunts Yael and Hila, join him for his special day.

Orr would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his tutor, Noa Bar, with whom he has enjoyed spending time; his B’nai Mitzvah program leader, Adam Lowy; and Rabbi Russell for her support and guidance.

He is grateful to be supported by his parents, Noa and Moti, and his older sisters, Eden and Zoe.
