Ella Chinn’s Bat Mitzvah
Hi, my name is Ella Chinn and I'm a 7th grader at San Francisco Schoolhouse. I like to crochet, be around my friends and hang out with my dog, Cami and cat, Kipper. I also love to travel and explore good food in interesting places.
I'm looking forward to my Bat Mitzvah and carrying on the tradition that it represents. Preparing for my Bat Mitzvah has been a unique experience. I've learned a lot and it has been fun (and a little stressful). I will be reading from Parshat Shemot, which is the beginning of the book of Exodus. It tells the story of Moses growing up and speaking to God for the first time. I chose this parsha because it features Moses as a baby, but that's not what I'm going to be talking about on Saturday.
I’d like to thank Rabbi Russell for helping me write my Dvar Torah and Marilyn Heiss for teaching me how to read Torah and Haftarah. I also want to thank my parents for encouraging me to get to this day.
I hope to see many of you at CBS on Shabbat to celebrate with me and my family and friends.
