Joshua Kaplan’s Bar Mitzvah (and Birthday!)

Joshua Kaplan will be called to the Torah at minyan on his actual birthday, Thursday, October 27, 2022, with his bar mitzvah and a community celebration to follow in the shul, Shabbat, October 29 featuring Noach as Parshat Hashavua.

Joshua’s family has actively participated in San Francisco’s Jewish community for over 60 years, and he's pleased to be joined at his bar mitzvah by his grandmother, Susan Kaplan, along with other family and friends.

Joshua attends 7th grade at San Francisco Brandeis Jewish Day School. He enjoys playing and continuing to improve his skills on the electric guitar, having attended several headliner rock concerts with his dad this year. His pet labradoodle dog, Buddy, often keeps him company as he plays videogames with his close friends.

Joshua wishes to express his appreciation to all of his teachers at Brandeis and Beth Sholom, as well as to Rabbi Russell, for their support and encouragement to reach this day and to his family for the strong Jewish identity they’ve provided.
