We are thrilled to welcome back Jennifer Lang for a discussion and signing of Landed: A Yogi’s Memoir in Pieces & Poses — no registration is required to attend.
In experimental micro-chapters, American-born Jennifer Lang traces her seven-year journey—both on and off a yoga mat—reckoning with her adopted country/Israel, her inherited religion/Judaism, midlife hormones/menopause, and imminent empty nest/inevitable. After three decades of moving cities, countries, and continents first alone then with her French husband and their three children, she doesn’t know how to plant roots. Thanks to yoga teachings, emotional fortitude, and a spouse who supports her yen to reclaim her secular self in their mixed marriage, she finally understands home is more about who you are than where you live.
San Francisco Bay Area born Jennifer Lang lives in Tel Aviv, where she runs Israel Writers Studio. Her prize-winning essays appear in Baltimore Review, Under the Sun, Midway Journal, and elsewhere. A longtime yoga practitioner and instructor, she holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and served as an Assistant Editor at Brevity Journal. Her first book, Places We Left Behind: a memoir-in-miniature, will be followed by Landed: A yogi's memoir in pieces & poses, both with Vine Leaves Press. Places was a finalist in the Foreword Review Award for memoir, American Book Annual Best Book Awards and IAN Book of the Year Awards for multicultural nonfiction, as well as in the Wishing Shelf Awards for adult nonfiction.
